Meet Maya!  
It’s been another week, and still no interest in Maya. We can’t understand why this sweet girl hasn’t found her forever home yet. She’s now 6 months old and weighs 20 pounds.

Her foster mom shares:
"Maya would be the perfect family/companion dog! She’s amazing with kids, cats, and dogs of all sizes. She’s incredibly smart, knows her name, and comes when called. Maya loves to run and play, but she’s also a snuggler who will happily curl up in your lap. She rarely barks unless she’s playing. She’s been in foster care for about four months, and I personally believe it’s because she’s a black dog, which can make her harder to adopt (black dogs are statistically overlooked). If you love black labs but want a smaller companion, Maya is your girl!"

Our dogs love playing with her, and we’ve loved having her here, but Maya deserves her forever home. We’d keep her ourselves, but with our own pets, we’ve reached our limit and wouldn’t be able to foster anymore.
